A full service benefits consulting company specializing in employee benefits for all sized firms
In today's market, there are two major types of group medical plans. We are experts in both. We evaluate fully insured and self-funded (level-funded) medical plans in order to provide the best fit for each client:
Fully Insured - Mainly for smaller groups under 10 enrolled lives, these plans have set rates based on the employer's demographic location, and their employee population. Carriers files their rates with the state and offer hundreds of plans with local and national networks.
Level-Funded - Gaining popularity over the past 10 years, these plans consider the overall "health status" of the employer, in addition to the type of employer, location, and employee census details. Premiums remain fixed (level) just like fully insured plans, but rates are negotiable and can be up to 30%+ less than fully insured rates. Additionally, the employer can receive a surplus at the end of the policy year based on their group's claims.
RMIA evaluates both medical plan types every year to determine the best option for our clients.
One of the most important aspects of a group medical plan is the network of providers. By evaluating both local and national networks, we are able to achieve significant premium savings while ensuring employees have access to their preferred doctors and facilities.
By offering employees a choice of medical plans to choose from, employers can structure their premium contributions to maximize cost savings, while giving employees multiple options when it comes to their health care needs.
For groups with at least 10 employees, level-funded plans from Anthem Blue Cross can save up to 30%+ in premiums. Find out more by emailing us or clicking the link below.
